In early July of 2020 an epic mix of students from El Sistema inspired programs throughout California came together with producers, musicians and teaching artists from The Collective Conservatory to compose four brand new pieces of music. Through body percussion, singing, dancing, playing instruments, improvising, rapping, beat boxing, and spoken word students were able to express and explore their individual identity while creating a stronger unified voice as an ensemble and musical family. These four pieces of music were produced by different producers who drew inspiration from hundreds of student submitted audio recordings, improvisation motifs during sessions and specific musical tasks assigned to the students.
